2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:

  • Your name, email address and phone number, when submitted via our contact, quote enquiry or custom wallpaper request forms.
  • The content of any message you send us, including project details, dimensions and your closest city.
  • Any image or file you upload when requesting a custom wallpaper.
  • Technical information collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies when you browse the site — see Section 4 below.

3. How we use your information

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries, quote requests and custom wallpaper requests.
  • To communicate with you about your project, order or account with us.
  • To understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it (via Google Analytics).
  • To show you relevant advertising on Google and on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), including retargeting visitors who have already shown interest in our products — but only where you have given consent to marketing cookies.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We rely on your consent, our legitimate business interests, and/or the necessity of processing to respond to your request, as the lawful basis for this processing.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device to help websites function and to collect information. We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the website to function correctly (e.g. remembering your cookie preference). These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, time on site, general location), so we can improve it. These are only set if you accept cookies.
  • Marketing / advertising cookies — we use the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads (including Google Performance Max campaigns) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show you relevant ads for 23 Interiors on those platforms, based on your visit to our site. These are only set if you accept cookies.

You can choose whether to accept or decline analytics and marketing cookies via the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the website footer.

5. Sharing your information with third parties

We share personal information with the following third-party service providers, solely to help us operate this website and our business:

  • Resend — to deliver form submission emails to our team.
  • Google LLC — Google Analytics (site traffic analysis) and Google Ads (advertising, including Performance Max campaigns), where you have consented to these cookies.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — the Meta Pixel, used for Facebook and Instagram advertising and retargeting, where you have consented to these cookies.
  • Our website hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel and CloudWays), who store and process data on our behalf.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Cross-border transfer of information

Some of the third parties listed above (including Google and Meta) may process personal information on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives a level of protection that is at least equivalent to that required by POPIA, including relying on those providers’ own compliance frameworks and contractual safeguards.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information collected via our forms only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, fulfil any resulting order, and comply with our legal, accounting or reporting obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights under POPIA

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or update inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Request that we delete personal information we no longer have a lawful basis to retain.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information for direct marketing purposes at any time.
  • Withdraw any consent you have previously given (e.g. for analytics or marketing cookies), without affecting the lawfulness of processing before your withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with POPIA.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 1 above.

10. Children’s information

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian.
